BURWELL, Neb — Nebraska's Big Rodeo continues today with a big name reaching Burwell. Husker volleyball coach John Cook is the Grand Marshal of Nebraska's Big Rodeo in Burwell. The rodeo board said earlier this year that Cook has “developed a passion for the western way of life” and the sport of rodeo over the last few years. The gates for Nebraska's Big Rodeo open at 6:30 PM and RED OUT Night starts at 7:30 PM. Grand Lodge of Masons place cornerstone, at new Beatrice Elementary School
BEATRICE - The Grand Lodge of Masons of Nebraska and Masonic Lodge 26 conducted a cornerstone ceremony Saturday, at a new southeast Nebraska school building. The Beatrice Prekindergarten to Fifth Grade facility will begin operations this coming school year. A cornerstone and time capsule will be placed on a wall not far from the north entrance to the building. Grand Orator of the Nebraska Masons, Mohan Krishna spoke of the project that will replace four separate buildings constructed in the 1950s.
Top 150 2025 recruit Quentin Rhymes set to visit Nebraska
A class of 2025 forward is set to visit Lincoln later this year. Small forward Quentin Rhymes revealed he will be visiting Nebraska in September. Rhymes received an offer from the Huskers back in May. The 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward is one of four small forwards in the class of 2025 to earn an offer from Nebraska. He also received offers from TCU and Wichita State throughout the summer. Rhymes stands at No. 136 in the rankings for the class of 2025. He is attending Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona, after playing for Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rhymes also plays for the Las Vegas Knicks in the AAU, where he delivered stellar performances throughout the season. Last week against West Virginia Gold, he scored 40 points and landed six 3-pointers. Nebraska to host five-star athlete next week
The top athlete in the class of 2025 will visit Nebraska next week. Michael Terry III is a five-star recruit for Alamo Heights High School out of San Antonio, Texas. As a junior, he earned district MVP honors by rushing for 995 yards and 20 touchdowns and receiving 564 yards and ten touchdowns. He is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus on Tuesday and Wednesday. Terry recently spoke with Phillip Dukes of the On3 network about his last visit to Nebraska and the impression it left on him. It’s like a big family over there. When I went on my OV (official visit), they welcomed me with open arms. Just the culture around them and my family had fun out there. I got to spend time with the players and really got to see how it is out there. Terry is being recruited as a wide receiver, running back, and defensive back. He is ranked as the No. 1 athlete in the 2025 recruiting class.
