The intense summer heat and lack of rain have taken their toll on more than just the trees and lawns (brown unless you are watering). Sandbars are showing up on our streams with small rivers like the Mud and Guyandotte having slowed their flow, with water levels down a few feet at Beech Fork Lake and Hurricane Reservoir.
Floyd man charged with attempted burglary, endangering officers
GRETHEL, Ky. — A Floyd County man was arrested on multiple charges after deputies say he charged at them with a knife while they were responding to an attempted break-in. Police were called to a Grethel home Sunday night, after a couple reported that Mitchell Williams, 40, was trying to break down their door, armed with a knife and threatening to kill them.
