Heavy rain on Sunday, July 13 may have saved the Waterloo McKays of the Home Talent Baseball League from a tough day of competition. They were scheduled to hit the road that day to take on the Monona Braves at their place.

Monona was set to enter the game as the top team in the HTL’s Eastern Section with a perfect 8-0 record so far this season. Waterloo, on the other hand, went into the weekend in the midst of a six-game losing streak and had lost its previous two games against Sun Prairie and Poynette a combined 16-0.

The game was postponed. The reschedule date has yet to be announced. The McKays are scheduled to have this coming weekend free, but Monona is already committed to play Cottage Grove.

If the two can’t settle on a new date for the game, then only one matchup remains on Waterloo’s schedule for the regular season. The opponent should incite some confidence as the McKays will hit the road to face Columbus on Sunday, July 28. The Crawdads are the only team Waterloo has beaten this season, 15-10.
