    LaFargeville native Wyatt Parliament drafted by New York Yankees

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A north country native has been drafted by the New York Yankees in the Major League Baseball Draft.

    LaFargeville’s Wyatt Parliament was selected in the seventh-round, 211th overall of the MLB Draft on Monday night by the Yankees. Parliament was a student-athlete at LaFargeville and also played for the Thousand Islands baseball program during his time in high school.

    He is 6-foot, 4-inches and 215 pounds and is currently on the Virginia Tech team. Parliament started his career at Rutgers before transferring to Blacksburg ahead of his junior season.

    Parliament appeared in 15 games and had a 4-3 pitching record with 43.2 innings pitched.
