The rematches went to Watertown High School's basketball teams on Tuesday.
Facing Aberdeen Central for the second time this year, the Arrow squads each avenged earlier losses to the Golden Eagles.
Watertown's boys, who lost on a last-second 3-pointer at Aberdeen in early January, came out on top 74-71 in the Watertown Civic Arena in a game that also went down to the wire.
Watertown's girls also gained some revenge on Tuesday with a 55-46 win at Aberdeen Central.
Tuesday's boys game featured some hot shooting. Watertown drained 26 of 44 field-goal attempts for 59 percent and Aberdeen Central 29 of 53 for 55 percent.
The Golden Eagles led 68-67 after Parker Lemer's layup with 1:42 left, but the Arrows used back-to-back field goals by Jake Olson and Caden Beauchamp to take the lead for good.
Dylon Rawdon scored 18 points, Beachamp 13, Kohen Kranz 12, Olson 11 and Marcus Rabine nine for the Arrows, who at 10-7 are currently No. 8 in the Class AA standings with three games remaining in the regular season. Beauchamp also snared seven rebounds and Rawdon and Kranz each dished out five assists.
Brendan Phillips tallied 18 points, Lemer 17, Grant Fritz 13 and Colby Dauwen eight for Aberdeen Central (7-10), who are No. 13 in the Class AA standings.
Watertown's girls (5-12) helped their playoff cause with their first two-game winning streak of the season after winning over the Golden Eagles. Emery Thury and Addi Johnston each scored 13 points, Miranda Falconer 10, Avery Munger eight and Jade Lund seven. Thury also collected nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Watertown shot 51 percent (20 of 39) from the field compared to Aberdeen Central's 17 of 47 for 36 percent.
Taryn Hermansen collected 16 points and eight rebounds, Caydi Withers 13 points and Lauryn Burckhard 10 points and six rebounds for the Golden Eagles (9-8).
Aberdeen Central has slipped to 10th and Watertown has jumped up to No. 13 in the Class AA standings with three regular-season games remaining.

Other Watertown Basketball
Watertown's boys also recorded a big win on Friday by outlasting No. 2 (now No. 4) Sioux Falls Roosevelt 80-77 in overtime on the road.
Rawdon poured in 22 points and Beauchamp and Olson each added 19. Rabine added eight and Will Engstrom seven for a Watertown team that shot 56 percent (27 of 48) from the field. Beauchamp had seven rebounds and Olson six. Rawson and Beauchamp each recorded six assists.
The Arrows visit Huron on Friday before closing out their regular season with two games next week.
Watertown's girls won 50-25 over Roosevelt at hom eon Friday, getting 18 points and seven rebounds from Thruy, 15 points from Johnston and 11 from Miranda Falconer.
The Arrows host Huron at 7 p.m. Friday in the Civic Arena before playing their final two regular-season games next week.
Other Aberdeen Central Basketball
Tuesday's loss was the second in two night for Aberdeen Central's girls, who fell 63-35 on Monday to fifth-rated Class A Tea Area. Hermansen had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Burckhard seven points.
The Golden Eagles also tallied a 52-49 win at Huron on Thursday, getting 17 points from Hermansen, 14 from Burckhard and 10 from Withers. Hermansen hauled in nine rebounds and Burckhard seven.
Aberdeen Central visits Brookings on Friday and will play its final two regular-season games next week.
The Golden Eagle boys fell to Huron 62-48 at homne on Friday. Lemer and Phillips each scored 13 points. Fritz adeded 11 to go with nine rebounds.
Aberdeen Central's boys also have three regular-season games remaining, including Friday at home against Brookings.
Watertown and Aberdeen Central Wrestling
The Arrows and Golden Eagles each compete Saturday in the Class A Dual team tournament at Brookings. Sixth-seeded Watertown upset two higher-seeded foes before falling to top-seeded Sturgis in the finals. No. 4 Aberdeen Central also placed higher than its seed, taking third after a 31-30 win over Pierre in the third-place match.

Watertown and Aberdeen Central boys compete in region tournaments this weekend. The Arrows are the likely favorite to win the Region 1A tournament for a fifth-straight year on Saturday in Tea. The Golden Eagles will compete in the Region 3A tourney at Pierre. Wrestlers are trying to qualify for the State Class A Individual Wrestling Tournament Feb. 22-24 in Sioux Falls.
Watertown and Aberdeen Central's girls each competed last week in the Eastern South Dakota Conference tournament. Pierre topped the nine-team field with 150 points, followed by Harrisburg (125.5), Watertown (125) and Aberdeen Central (120).
Olivia Anderson (43-1 at 100 pounds), Katelyn Yexley (28-14 at 138), Allison Konrad (40-2 at 185) and Eden Hach (28-8 at 250) each won titles for the Arrows. Other placers included Brooklynn Randall, second at 107; Hayden Thomas, fourth at 120; Nevaeh Schanbeck, fourth at 145; and April Peterson, third at 152.
Madyson Gillen (35-11) won the 107-pound division for Aberdeen Central. Other placers were Allsion Neitzel, third at 126; Jasmine Maas, third at 132; Rakyrah Wallace, third at 138; Lin Paw Jone, second at 135; Grace Reszler, fourth at 152; Katrina Gibson, second at 165; Lilly Nelson, second at 185; anmd Nina Howard, third at 250.
A number of Watertown and Aberdeen Central will qualify for the State Girls Individual Tournament Feb. 22-24 in Sioux Falls.
Watertown-Aberdeen Central Gymnastics
The Watertown and Aberdeen Central squads each wrapped up their seaons by competing Frdiay and Satrurday in the State Class AA High School Gymnastics Championships at Pierre.
The Arrows placed fourth and Golden Eagles eighth in team competition on Friday. Watertown's Shauna Evenson medaled by taking fourth in the balance beam and sixth in the floor exercise in the Individual Events and All-Around Championships on Saturday.

Watertown Hockey
The Laker girls concluded their regular season with 4-2 home losses to Mitchell on Friday and Sioux Center, Iowa on Saturday.
Janel Lloyd and Emma Schleusner each scored in Friday;s game with Harper Hendricks adding two assists and Lily Murray and Schleusner one each. Kira Reppe tallied 34 saves in net.
Hendricks and Schleusner each scored on Saturday,. Lloyd had two assists and Schleusner one. Angelyn Birnell recorded 25 saves.
Watertown (4-16-1 overall and 0-14 in the SDAHA) is scheduled to host the state tourney March 1-3.
The Laker boys (11-11 overall and 7-11 in the SDAHA) have two weeks remaining in their regular season. They played three games over the past weekend, losing 10-1 at Brookings on Friday, beating Sioux Center 2-1 at home on Saturday and losing 8-2 to Yankton at home on Sunday.
Sawyer Knopf had a goal, Tommy Foley an assists and goalies Caleb Schmaltz and Kohl Nygaard 27 and six saves, respectively, on Friday.
Foley and Jake Root each found the net in Saturday's win. Hudson Hendricks, Karter Ragels and Jett Van Gilder each had assists and Nygaard notched 12 saves.
Bailey Dorneman and Jackson Espland scored on Sunday, Kowynn Muhl added an assists and Nygaard 25 saves for the Lakers, who are scheduled to host Sioux Falls East at 8 p.m. on Friday and Aberdeen at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Maas Ice Arena.
Aberdeen Hockey
The Cougar girls (14-6-1 overall and 11-2 in the SDAHA) won 6-1 at Mitchell on Saturday and also notched a 4-1 home win over Oahe on Sunday.
Morgan Jones and Madeline Sandvig each scored twice against Mitchell. Addyson Keller and Rachel Siefken also had goals. Sieken also made four assists and Keller and Allison Woehl each one. Chloe Vikander stopped 19 shots.
Kailyn Poppen, Siefken, Jones and Olivia Sandvig each scored on Sunday. Alyssa Roehrich had two assists and Jones and Siefken each one. Vikander added 20 saves.
The Cougars travel to Sioux Falls on Monday to close out SDAHA regular-season play.
Aberdeen's boys (9-8-1 in the SDAHA) lost 10-0 at Brookings on Saturday and returned home to top Oahe 4-3 in overtime on Sunday.
Quincy Madsen's goal with 11.9 seconds left in overtime was the game-winner on Sunday. Aiden Posthumus added two goals and Jack Podoll one. Madsen and Michael Weisenburger each tallied assists. Colton Townsend registered 41 saves in net.
Townsend also had 23 saves against Brookings for the Cougars, who visit Watertown on Saturady at 7 p.m. and host Brookings on Sunday at 3 p.m.
