Watertown boys slated to host Sioux Falls Lincoln in state-qualifying game on Saturday

The biggest games of the season have arrived for the Watertown and Aberdeen Central boys and girls basketball teams.

SoDak 16 state-qualifying matchups have been finalized for girls (Friday) and boys (Saturday). The winners advance to state tournaments March 7-9 in the Sanford Pentagon at Sioux Falls (girls) and March 14-16 in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center at Sioux Falls (boys).

Watertown's girls, the No. 13 seed out of 16 teams, will visit No. 4 Sioux Falls Jefferson (15-7) at 6 p.m. on Friday and the No. 7 Arrow boys (12-8) will host No. 10 Sioux Falls Lincoln (10-10) at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Civic Arena.

Watertown's girls lost 54-38 at Jefferson on Feb. 6 and Lincoln's boys came to Watertown on Jan. 30 and posted a 61-54 win.

Aberdeen Central's girls (9-11), the No. 11 seed, visit No. 6 Spearfish (14-6) on Friday and the boys (8-12), the No. 13 seed, visit No. 4 Sioux Falls Roosevelt (14-6) on Saturday at a time to be determined.

Aberdeen Central's girls won at Spearfish 54-47 on Dec. 15 and the boys just fell 55-53 at home to Roosevelt last week.
