Busy 5 Days in Annandale Celebrating Independence Day
ANNANDALE (WJON News) -- There are five days of fun in Annandale as they host their annual 4th of July celebration. The events start on Wednesday with the carnival opening at 4:00 p.m., Music in the Park with the Annandale Community Band starts at 7:00 p.m., and the boat parade is also at 7:00 p.m.
This year’s Dairy Berry Day
Dairy Berry Day took place June 27 this year from 6-8 p.m. in Band Stand Park in Dassel. The Dassel Ambassadors started the event, which has become a yearly event. “During Covid, it was shut down for a year or two and just recently we just brought it back. It’s kind of just a fun community event, it gets our Dassel ambassadors and candidates out into the community, just to show their faces and have them get to know people. The ice cream is donated from the Meeker County Dairy Association and then we have The Dassel-Cokato drumline performing for us. Just a fun community event,” said Committee Coordinator for The Dassel Ambassadors Angie Shrupp.
Emergency Repairs Affecting Areas Sanitary Sewer System
(KNSI) – Residents in several area cities are being asked to cut back on showers and other activities that send water into the sanitary sewer system. Emergency repairs are being made on a critical component of the forcemain system. The issue affects St. Cloud, Sartell, St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids, and Waite Park.

Dassel welcome new City Administrator Renee Eckerly
Renee Eckerly started working in Dassel as city administrator in May. She is from Eden Valley and has worked in government since 2001. She’s worked in the cities of Cass Lake, Paynesville, and Maple Lake. Before working in government, Eckerly had a background in banking and computer software support and studied accounting in college.
