WAUKEE, Iowa- The 9th annual Waukee Arts Festival is taking place at Centennial Park.

The free festival started on Friday evening and 4,000 people came out.

There are 140 vendors this year, including local artists selling their creations and local eateries providing food.

Time Hanson is a vendor who is attending his first art festival. He is a Waukee native and owns Bare Necessities of Life Photography.

“I am here to showcase some of the pictures that I have here, bring the beauty of what I see through my lens to others here that might appreciate the beauty of Waukee,” he said.

Saturday’s events are scheduled to last through 10pm. Organizers said activities will continue rain or shine.

Parking is available at the Waukee High School and the Waukee Middle School lot.
