    MAY 9-10: LIBRARY VINTAGE SALE

    The Friends of the Waunakee Library Vintage Sale will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 9-10 with furniture, collectibles, shabby chic, antiques, tools, used books and much more. Sales benefit Waunakee Public Library.

    MAY 10: LIBRARY STAFF MEETING

    The Waunakee Public Library is closed until 1 p.m. May 10 for a staff meeting. The Friends Vintage sale will still be open at this time!

    MAY 9-11: VILLAGE-WIDE GARAGE SALES

    The Village of Waunakee garage sale days run from May 9-11 with sales throughout the community.

    MAY 15: BACKYARD CHICKENS

    Anyone interested in keeping backyard chickens can attend a presentation at Waunakee Public Library, Wednesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m. where basic husbandry, housing, feeding, cleaning, and some common concerns, among other things, will be discussed.

    MAY 11: STAMP OUT HUNGER

    The U.S. Postal Service’s Stamp Out Food Drive is Saturday, May 11. U.S. Postal carriers will pick up the food placed in bags by all mailboxes that Saturday. Residents are asked to check the Waunakee Food Pantry’s website for items that the food pantry needs in the top eight list and pantry stock items. Visit waunakeeweb.org/food-pantry .

    MAY 16: COOK CLUB

    For culinary geniuses and beginner cooks. Select a recipe from our featured cook book, prepare the dish at home, and bring it to our club meeting! We’ll taste the prepared dishes and discuss our experiences using the recipes. Waunakee Public Library, Thursday, May 16, 6 p.m.

    MAY 16: LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING

    Waunakee’s American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), William Lansing Unit 360, 417 East Main Street, will hold its regular monthly meetings on Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. This is a new meeting time. Election of officers for 2024-25 will be conducted during the meeting. A social time and potluck at 5:30 p.m. Will precede the meeting. Meat will be provided, and all are asked to bring a dish to pass. Anyone interested in learning about the American Legion Auxiliary and its service to veterans and the community is welcome to attend. ALA membership is open to spouses and widows of America’s military men and women veterans, as well as mothers, sisters, children and grandchildren of veterans.     MAY 21: CAREGIVER RESOURCE FAIR

    Waunakee’s Dementia Friendly Committee is sponsoring its first annual Caregiver Resource Fair on Tuesday, May 21, 11 AM-2 PM, in the lower level of the Village Center, 333 Madison Street, Waunakee. More than 20 agencies will be exhibiting at the event. They will provide those attending with information about services they offer to enable people to stay in their homes or be cared for at their facilities. Visitors can talk with any or all of the exhibitors at the Fair.

    MAY 22: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

    Kids are invited to dive into FPC’s SCUBA Vacation Bible School. Families can register by May 22 to get a fin-tastic t-shirt! Scuba VBS will be Sunday, June 9-Tuesday, June 11, 5-7:30 p.m. Dinner is included every night. All children ages 3 years (potty trained) — 5th grade (in the fall) are encouraged to participate, regardless of your church affiliation. Registration is $30 for the first child and $20 for each sibling. Fee assistance is always available. Kids will plunge into their friendship with God! Guaranteed oceans of fun with friends, Bible adventures, science experiments, games, music, skits and more! Adults and older children can volunteer (no charge for volunteers-volunteer background forms available).
