    Junior Golf: Waunakee's Albers ties for fifth at Dells tourney

    DeForest’s Abby Henriksen placed 13th at the inaugural LPGA/USGA Girls Golf National Championship at Pine Needles, North Carolina, as a host of local youth golfers have participated in state and national tournaments recently.

    The sophomore, who is heading into her junior season, shot a 4-over par 76 on the first day, followed by 1-under par 71 on day two and a 3-over par 73 in the final round for a 6-over 222 for the tournament, which took place at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club.

    At The Dells Junior Golf Championship, Waunakee’s Peyton Albers tied for fifth with a 5-over par 149, firing a 73 on the first day and a 76 on day two. DeForest’s Lincoln Hottmann finished one shot behind Albers, with a 6-over par 150.

    Meanwhile, DeForest’s Nolan Hottmann tied for 14th, carding an 8-over par 152 after shooting a 73 and a 79. Firing a 155 for the tourney, Windsor’s Dylan Bilderback finished in a three-way tie for 20th, shooting a 77 and a 78.

    DeForest’s Miles Kuluvar ended up in a five-way tie for 37th, shooting a 161, while Windsor’s Parker Bilderback was knotted up with one other to take 42nd, finishing with a 162.

    On the girls’ side, Waunakee’s Georgia Volley placed fifth at the Dells, after shooting a 165. She had an 83 on day one and 82 on day two, finishing 21-over par.
