    Wausau Legion baseball holds off Stevens Point to wrap up play at Firecracker Tournament

    STEVENS POINT – The Wausau Post 10 Legion baseball team held off a seventh-inning rally to defeat Stevens Point Post 6 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Bukolt Park, concluding play at the three-day Firecracker Tournament.

    Davis Winter had an RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to complete a 4-for-4 day for Wausau and extend its lead to 5-3.

    Stevens Point (13-6) scored once in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Noah Marschke before Ryan Rodemeier coaxed a groundout to end it and finish off a complete-game victory for the Bulldogs. Rodemeier allowed six hits and three walks, while striking out three.

    Luke Smogoleski added three hits and Winter finished with three RBI for Wausau, which finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.

    Wausau (10-11) will be back in action Wednesday at Merrill.
