    Wausau Pilot & Review

A portion of Hwy. 29 east of Wausau is being rerouted Thursday due to a serious crash involving two vehicles including a semi tractor trailer, according to emergency personnel.

A Marathon County traffic alert issued at 11:45 a.m. advises that westbound traffic is being rerouted on northbound County Hwy. Y to westbound County Hwy. N, then southbound on County Hwy. Q.

The crash was reported at about 11 a.m. near Silk Road in the town of Ringle. Emergency scanner traffic indicates multiple potential injuries in the crash and possible entrapment. Multiple agencies responded.

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation reports a closure is expected to last for more than two hours.

This is a developing story that will be updated.

The Pilot often relies on reports from police officials in control of a crime, fire or crash scene during a breaking news event. While these initial reports are valuable to readers, they also can be incomplete and even inaccurate. We let readers know what we can and can’t confirm, as well as when and how we received our information. Then we work to aggressively gather a wider range of perspectives and to verify the information through public records, interviews, photos and videos, all of which are verified before publishing.
