Wausau East/West girls golf opens season with 13th-place finish at Tomah Tune-Up

TOMAH – Talia Schlindwein tied for sixth with an 81 to lead the Wausau East/West girls golf team to a 13th-place finish at the Tomah Tune-Up Invitational on Monday at Hiawatha Golf Course.
Schlindwein finished in a three-way tie for sixth, nine shots behind meet medalist Belle Kongshaug of Colfax/Elk Mound, who had a 72. Karma Hasselberger of Tomah placed second with a 73.
Prescott won the team title with a 321, three strokes ahead of Tomah. Hudson placed third with a 338 and East/West was 13th among the 23 teams with a 414.
Emma Brandt added a 108, Anika Creisher had a 111, Ella Wendler shot a 114 and Natalie Doering had a 118 to round out East/West’s scoring.
Wausau East/West will host a seven-team invitational on Thursday at Trapp River Golf Course.
