2 dead in Shawano County crash

Police are continuing to investigate a single-vehicle crash that left two people dead Thursday in Shawano County.

The crash was reported Thursday, Aug. 29 on Elm Road near Koan Tuk Drive in the town of Bartelme. Police received a 911 call reporting a vehicle on fire with two people seriously injured.

When deputies and rescue crews arrived, they discovered a man and woman dead at the scene. Both victims were ejected from the vehicle and efforts are ongoing to verify their identities. Fire crews extinguished the blaze.
