Chicken franchise Wing Zone is set to open in Wauwatosa July 30. Here are the details.

A Nashville chicken franchise is set to open in Wauwatosa.

To celebrate Wing Zone Hot Chicken & Wings' opening Tuesday, July 30, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., there will be live music, a dancing chicken and giveaways.

Wing Zone Hot Chicken & Wings is known for its cooked-to-order Nashville-style chicken at four heat levels: plain, mild, medium and hot.

Wing Zone Hot Chicken & Wings will be at 6707 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, right across from a KFC. Jodie Schroeder, who owns the restaurant with her husband, Matt Schroeder, said that is just a coincidence.

“We picked the location because we liked the area in Wauwatosa and wanted to help clean up the building that has been empty for quite some time," she said.

“We were able to try the hot chicken sandwich, and instantly fell in love with the (Wing Zone) brand and its level of customer experience,” Schroeder said. "So many of our competitors just offer wings or sandwiches. But Wing Zone brings together the best of both worlds for families looking to mix and match.”

What are the flavors for Wing Zone's chicken and sauces?

The chicken, marinated for a minimum of 12 hours and then cooked to order, has flavors that include garlic parmesan, Nashville hot, salt and vinegar and lemon pepper Tajin. Its sauce flavors include buffalo, honey BBQ, Korean BBQ, Thai chili, zone sauce and Louisiana lemon pepper (the hottest sauce).

Wing Zone Hot Chicken & Wings was founded in 1993 and is an international fast-casual restaurant. It plans to grow to 200 profitable restaurants by 2025, according to the release.

Wing Zone's other Wisconsin location is at 138 E. Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.
