Crawford County Crime Stoppers asking for assistance with Hit and Run Accident in Wauzeka
On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at approximately 1:24 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hit-and-run crash in the Village of Wauzeka. An investigation determined that a John Deere tractor sideswiped a semi pulling a trailer and the operator of the John Deere tractor left the crash scene. The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify the owner and/or operator of the John Deere tractor, review the attached picture.
4th Offense OWI Crash with Injuries
On Saturday, at 3:46am, the Grant County Communications Center was advised of a one vehicle crash on County Highway D by Southwest Road in the Town of Platteville. The caller advised a man was unresponsive outside of the vehicle. Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Platteville Fire Department, and Southwest Health Paramedics responded. The investigation determined that 42 year old Manoj Reddy of Madison was traveling on County Highway D when he drove off the roadway, rolled his vehicle numerous times, and was ejected through the sun roof of the vehicle. Reddy was taken to Southwest Health Care in Platteville for treatment of his injuries. Reddy was charged with 4th Offense OWI, Failure to install an Ignition Interlock Device, Operating after Revocation, Failure to maintain control of his vehicle, and Failure to wear a seat belt. Donnies Towing assisted with removing the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Car Misses Roundabout, Driver arrested for OWI and Possible Drug Charges.
On Sunday around 5:30pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a one vehicle crash at the roundabout just south of Lancaster at Highway 61 and Highway 81. The caller reported a disabled vehicle at that location and unsure what was struck. The investigating deputy arrived and met with the driver, identified as 63 year old Ronald Walsh of Horicon. Walsh said that he forgot the roundabout was there as he no longer lived in the area. The investigating deputy noticed the odor of intoxicants and Walsh’s speech appeared slurred. After an investigation, Walsh was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. While searching Walsh, the deputy found what Walsh admitted possessing a paper fold containing cocaine. He also admitted to marijuana smoking paraphernalia in his car. Walsh was arrested for OWI 1st Offense. He was also cited for Inattentive Driving. Other charges are pending further investigation of the items located upon arresting Walsh. Walsh’s vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Bennett’s Towing of Lancaster.
Crash Results in OWI Arrest and Other Citations
On Sunday, just after Midnight, theGrant County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a crash that had occured on Hunters Hollow Road in Mt. Ida Township. It was reported that several people were in a field with a truck trying to remove an SUV with airbag deployment after crashing through a gate and a fence. The initial Deputy at the scene located the vehicle, a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer, and its owner, 19 year old Glen Tydrich-Franke of Fennimore sitting beside it. Tydrich-Franke was cited for Underage Consumption of Alcohol and Failure to Report an accident. A subsequent investigation led to the driver of the vehicle, 18 year old Nolan Schoepp of Fennimore being located in the City of Fennimore. Schoepp was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated 1st offense and cited for Failure to Maintain Control. No injuries were reported. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Terry’s Tire and Tow.
