Rock River Thresheree is this weekend
EDGERTON — This 68th annual Rock River Thresheree runs Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. Activities include a flea market and craft show, food stands, and an antique tractor pull. Also on tap are a kids’ pedal pull, demonstrations, and antique tractor and steam engines on display. Admission is $10 for adults, free for children age 12 and under. Seniors are $8 on Friday. Parking is free. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. More information, including a full schedule of the weekend’s events, is at www.thresheree.com.

Following news of a financial crisis in Milwaukee Public Schools, a legislative committee has mandated a state audit of Wisconsin's education department. ASBURY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Asbury Police Department says a man stole six political signs along Seippel Road, targeting one candidate. Asbury Police Chief Tom Henneberry says despite dozens of signs sporting political figures lining the neighborhood, the suspect only stole signs supporting Carolyn Wiezorek: a Democratic candidate running for Iowa House District 65 against incumbent Republican Shannon Lundgren.

Fitchburg Man Arrested For Driving While Revoked – 2nd Offense
An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy along with a Linden Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on County Highway YZ in the Township of Dodgeville Wednesday around 3:00pm. As a result, 41 year old Kyle Nelson of Fitchburg was arrested on charges of Operating While Revoked-2nd Offense and Ignition Interlock Device Tampering, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, and Violating a Court Order. Nelson was taken to the Iowa County Jail where he was later released.
