    Body of missing kayaker pulled from Polk County lake

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A missing kayaker was found dead in the Waverly area on Monday morning.

    The man’s friends found his overturned kayak on Lake Annie on Sunday, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

    He was reported missing at 3:30 a.m. Boats from the sheriff’s office and Polk County Fire Rescue were launched into the lake and recovered the missing kayaker’s body.

    The kayaker, identified as Shane Park, 40, of Lake Wales, was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The sheriff’s office is investigating his death.
