Norfolk police investigate fatal shooting of 18-year-old

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are investigating the deadly shooting of an 18-year-old.

Friday just before midnight, officers were called to the 5100 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard for a report that someone had been shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found John E. Daughtry III, of Norfolk, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Daughtry was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

At this time, police have released very few details about this incident. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
