    NNPD: Searching for two persons of interest in shooting

    NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News police are searching for two persons of interest in connection with a shooting back in August.

    Around 4 p.m., on Aug. 23, Newport News Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the 2400 block of Oak Avenue.

    A preliminary investigation reveals an SUV stopped near the 1300 block of 24th Street. Two individuals were standing outside when the driver of the vehicle got out.

    One of the men police are looking to identify is a male wearing a grey hoodie, white pants, grey backpack and black hat. Police said he raised a gun and fired toward the driver.
