Fosters needed after Minneapolis shelter responds to hoarding cases
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) is looking for people willing to foster cats or dogs — and these animals' lives depend on it. The Facebook group Friends of MACC posted that the organization impounded 25 cats in a single day in July and anticipates adding another 16 cats due to hoarding cases. Two hot chicken chains have opened six Twin Cities restaurants, and more are coming
Two more Nashville-style hot chicken restaurants have opened this summer and there's a good chance the spicy sandwiches are soon coming to a neighborhood near you. State of play: Two chains are continuing their expansions in the Twin Cities: locally based Nashville Coop and Los Angeles-based Dave's Hot Chicken. Dave's is franchised locally by the family of former NBA player Kris Humphries. Driving the news: Kris' cousin Alex Humphries told Axios that Dave's will open in Coon Rapids on Aug. 9. The group has also signed a lease for a spot in the North Loop and will open in early 2025, he added.Nashville Coop and its real estate agent have been scouting for sites in Eagan and in the north metro, said CEO Arif Ahmed.By the numbers: Dave's opened its third Twin Cities location in Apple Valley last month, joining outposts in Minnetonka and Highland Park. Nashville Coop opened its Richfield location earlier this month and has restaurants in St. Paul and Stadium Village.
