Trio accused of impersonating police officers in violent Joliet home invasion

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Joliet police have announced that criminal charges have been approved for three men — two from Chicago and one from Melrose Park — following an armed home invasion that occurred four months ago.

According to police, the three were posing as police officers when they allegedly forced their way into a home on the 600 block of Coles Avenue at 5 a.m. on April 1, 2024.

It's alleged they announced themselves as police and that two wore body armor.

They’re identified as 37-year-old Imer Resumovic, of Chicago; 43-year-old David Brenner, of Chicago; and 47-year-old Michael Pedrozza, of Melrose Park.

There were three men and a woman in the home, according to police. One of the men struggled with Resumovic, took a gun away and hit him in the head with it.

Multiple shots were fired. Nobody was hit. The alleged burglars ran. Resumovic was arrested outside and charged with home Invasion and unlawful use of a weapon by felon.

Police said the other two left in an Audi that they stole from the residence and were later identified.

Charges against them include home invasion, residential burglary and

false personation of a peace officer.
