Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - In recognition of Memorial Day, the SPCA Serving Erie County is waiving adoption fees on most animals for current and past military members beginning Saturday May 25th through next Saturday, June 1st. All you need is a military ID or DD214. You can check out photos of adoptable animals and more info at YourSPCA.org/VetsAndPets2024.

The Basil Family of Dealerships will give away four new vehicles to first responders and military veterans as part of their 8th Annual Vehicles for Vets and First Responders promotion, done in partnership with Veterans One-Step Center of Western New York. You can nominate a veteran that you know starting on Monday, May 27th at BasilVehiclesForVets.com.

Cigar lovers will soon have a new hangout spot as The Tinder Box will move into the space previously occupied by Brennan's Bowery Bar at 4401 Transit Road in Clarence, per Buffalo Business First. The bar will have a 400 sq. ft. walk-in humidor. The owner, Jim Dvorak, is aiming for a mid-June open.
