    Annual Hometown Brewfest held at Canaan Valley Resort

    DAVIS, W.Va. (WBOY) — Canaan Valley Resort hosted its second Hometown Brewfest on Saturday featuring craft ales produced right in the Mountain State along with plenty of live music and snow activities.

    Several breweries participated at the event, including:

    • Big Timber
    • Mountain State Brewing
    • High Ground Brewing
    • Screech Owl
    • The Free Folk Brewery
    • Hawk Knob
    • Greenbrier Valley Brewing
    • Stumptown Ales

    For the brewers, the Hometown Brewfest is a chance to get together to share ideas and talk about the innovation of the brewing industry.

    ShakesBEER Festival returning to West Virginia

    Jason Nerenberg, Vice President of Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider and Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company, was very excited to discuss new beverages that honor West Virginia, along with some returning favorites.

    “So, we’re introducing our 36 Parks Country Roads hard cider with Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider Company. So, in conjunction with West Virginia State Parks, we are making this in a state park, exclusive cider here throughout the state of West Virginia available at all state park resorts,” Nerenberg said, “On the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company side of things, we are re-introducing our State Park Pale Ale, now 36 Parks, State Park, pale ale with the release of Summersville Lake State Park

    Live music was also featured at the event, including performances by D.J. Strizy, Juice Newsom and The Groove, Electric Blue and the Sodapop Gypsies, as well as a raffle to help the Tucker County Ambulance Authority leaving one lucky person with a chance to win a stay in the Bahamas.
