HAMBLETON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School got creative on Saturday to raise money for new gym bleachers.

The school hosted a craft fair to raise funds to replace the old bleachers, which became stuck in October and are no longer stable enough to sit on. There was a $15 fee if you brought your own table, or a $20 fee for Tucker Valley to provide a table.

Assistant principal Kim Falls is hopeful to have the funds raised soon, despite the large price tag.

“The bleachers have been broken, and we need about $130,000 to be able to replace the bleachers in our gym,” Falls said. “We have raised approximately $40,000 so far.”

Those wishing to make a donation towards the bleachers can call the school at 304-478-3606.
