WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (WBOY) — An agreement with Beltway Capital has been reached that will prevent the sale of The Greenbrier’s assets, Justice Companies announced Thursday in a press release.

At the beginning of the month, it was announced that The Greenbrier was going to be put up for auction .

The release said that under the agreement, Beltway Capital will receive “a specific amount” to be paid in full by Oct. 24, 2024.

Justice has already secured this funding, the release says. All issues concerning The Greenbrier and Glade Springs will be concluded upon full performance of the agreement, though Beltway reserves its rights if the Justice family fails to perform, the release said.

The issue surrounding the loan from Beltway Capital is separate from the lawsuit filed by First Guaranty Bank regarding a repayment issue .

This comes amid calls for Gov. Jim Justice (R) to drop out of the U.S. Senate race after a report that the resort is four months and millions of dollars behind on payments for employee health insurance.

There are also two dozen mining companies owned by Justice’s family refuting the U.S. government’s motion to hold them in contempt , citing an inability to pay remaining balances on  Mine Safety and Health Administration civil penalties.
