Short-term rental conference held in Monroe County

TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The inaugural Pocono Short-term Rental & Home Conference kicked off at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions.

Officials say this two-day event is for individuals interested in the short-term rentals and home industry.

The Pocono area is home to dozens of Airbnb and rental properties.

Contractors landscapers and plumbers will be on hand to answer any questions guests to the event might have the conference also offers free workshops

“The short-term rental safety workshop is going to be provided by Justin Ford. He is the safety guru, he goes around visiting short-term rentals and just letting people know: that this is a hazard. This is a liability. And so that is one workshop that I’m extremely excited to attend tomorrow,” stated Brenda Figueroa conference co-host.

“Anyone that’s in the short-term rental business, whether you’ve been in a long time or thinking about buying a home to maybe put on Airbnb or something like that, coming here and getting direct networking and interface with industry experts is extremely valuable,” added the Tom Powers market manager.
