NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A single-engine plane that made an emergency landing at Grand Strand Airport over the weekend made the landing after experiencing smoke in the cockpit, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane, a 1981 single-engine Piper Pa32, was registered to R&M Aviation LLC of Myrtle Beach. The aircraft returned to the airport and landed after experiencing smoke in the cockpit, the FAA said.

The fire was spotted under the engine and extinguished. The FAA said there was one person onboard and there were no injuries.
