Lowcountry braces for drier air, cooler temperatures and less humidity

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 reports that Lowcountry residents will experience a change in the air as drier air moves in, pushing out the humid air.

Dew points on Tuesday morning dropped into the 60s in certain Lowcountry areas, while temperatures ranged in the low to mid-70s.

Afternoon temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s, meteorologists say Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy and breezy.

“Don’t get me wrong, you are going to notice a big difference in the way it feels today – but at the same time, keep in mind it is early September. That sun angle is still high enough to where these mid-80s are going to be quite warm – even though it will feel a lot better than it did,” said Josh Marthers.

Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday there is a higher risk of rain, Storm Team 2 reports.

“It’s a little early to see just how much rain we’re going to get and how much coverage out of this, but it does look like later Friday and particularly Saturday into Sunday,” Marthers added.
