Minneapolis Police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that injured four kids, one of them critically

Chief Brian O'Hara says there were five minors in a stolen Kia about 1:00 a.m. Sunday when another stolen car came up, and someone inside started shooting.

The shooting happened on the 1400 block of Plymouth Ave. North.

Two boys and two girls between 11 and 14 years old were shot. One girl who was was shot in the head and is in critical condition.

    There are no arrests.

O'Hara said this is part of a bigger problem.

"The cars that are being stolen here, particularly among juveniles, are connected to more and more serious crimes," he said. "That's across the board; robberies, assaults, you name it. It just shows really brazen and callous behavior, they don't care about their own lives, let alone the lives of other people."

Community activists like Zion Baptist Church pastor Brian Herron said it's a growing concern.

"We have to talk about this, and we can't sweep it under the rug, and we can't make excuses for it," he said. "it;s wrong, and it shouldn't be happening to our children, and everybody aught to be mad about it."

O'Hara says two of the five minors in the car were arrested less than two weeks ago.
