TOLONO, Ill. (WCIA) — Hundreds of homes in Tolono were left without power Wednesday morning due to what Ameren described as an equipment malfunction.

The outage started around 9:15 a.m. and it affected a total of 580 homes. As of 10:40 a.m., Ameren’s outage map indicates that the outage has largely been resolved, with only a handful of homes still without power.

Ameren officials said crews are still in Tolono working to fix the issue. They were able to restore power to most of the affected homes by isolating the malfunction from the rest of the power grid, but some homes are still without power.

There is no time estimate on when those final few homes will have their power restored.
