Prosperity Gardens searching for stolen lawn mower

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Officials with Champaign Township’s Prosperity Gardens are looking for their stolen riding lawn mower.

“We are worried it’s been scrapped. This is an essential piece of equipment for running our urban farm and keeping our property tidy and safe,” staff told WCIA.

The orange Husqvarna mower was taken from the North Street Farm late last Thursday night, they said. They also noted that the mower has a rip on the seat, and that it has been used weekly for about six years now.

In the meantime, officials will be calling pawn shops and scrap yards to see if it’s been dropped off.
