12th annual Rocky’s Run returns to Miamisburg

MIAMISBURG, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Hosted in honor of a local fallen soldier, Rocky’s Run for Freedom was held on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

Returning for its 12th year, Rocky’s Run is an annual Memorial Day 5K run/walk to commemorate the life of Rocky Zanowick, who died serving his country. Now, the Zanowick family hosts the race every year to honor him and to raise money for a good cause.

The race takes place in downtown Miamisburg, beginning at the Veteran Memorial Park on the corner of S. Fifth Street and E. Central Avenue.

Funds raised by the 5K go toward Blue Skies for the Good Guys and Gals Warrior Foundation, Uriah’s Trust and City of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation.

Robert Saul, 29 of Englewood won the overall 5K, with a time of just over 20 minutes.
