McDonald’s introduces 6 collectible cups to go with new Collector’s Meals

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — If you don’t want to cook and are looking for a quick meal, you could soon get a unique item with it.

Beginning Aug. 13, McDonald’s will distribute one of six new collectible cups to select customers. Only those who order and purchase the ‘Collector’s Meal’ will have the ability to receive one.

Each cup celebrates a different nostalgic theme:

• Shrek, Jurassic Park and Minions
• Hello Kitty and Peanuts
• Barbie and Hot Wheels
• Beanie Babies
• Coca-Cola
• McDonald’s

To receive a cup, you are required to purchase one of the following Collector’s Meals:

• Breakfast
  • Sausage McMuffin with hash brown and hot coffee
• Lunch and Dinner
  • Either a 10-piece Chicken McNugget or Big Mac sandwich with fries and soft drink

The fast food chain partnered with artists through Snapchat’s “augmented reality experience.” Once you receive your cup, you can experience the cups by scanning it in through the social media platform.

“We’re bringing back some of our most-loved keepsakes with a twist, giving fans a memory that they can hold in their hands,” said Morgan Flatley, global chief marketing officer and head of new business ventures at McDonald’s. “These new collectible cups commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments and helping a new generation make their own lasting memories.”

Customers can find the collectible cups at participating locations, and while supplies last.
