DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Do you have a tree on your property that would make an excellent tree for all to see?

The Downtown Dayton Partnership is looking to find the centerpiece tree for the city’s Grande Illumination celebration on Nov. 29.

According to the DDP, organizers are looking for a full tree with minimal bare spots standing around 40 to 50 feet tall. Although the festival would like a Colorado green or blue spruce tree, other grand and stately evergreens could also work.

If your tree is selected, crews will visit your property and remove the tree themselves. You will be recognized during the festival.

“Crews will cut down the selected tree, remove the stump, and transport the tree to Courthouse Square at no cost to the owners,” said DDP. “The tree’s owners will also be recognized during the official tree-lighting ceremony.”

Your tree must be either in your front or side yard, away from lines or cables.

To nominate your tree, call 937-224-1518 or send an email . The chosen tree will be selected by the end of October.
