    What will winter look like in the Miami Valley?

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Get ready to break out your winter coat and long-sleeved clothes from your closet. The Farmers’ Almanac has released information on what the Miami Valley could experience during the upcoming winter.

    According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the entire Miami Valley could potentially see cold temperatures with snowy and wet conditions. In the Almanac’s forecast, Ohio could see its first snow shower in November.

    Although it is likely to be extremely early to tell if the Miami Valley will have a white Christmas, the Almanac believes the Miami Valley will just see sunshine with cold temperatures and dry conditions on Christmas Eve and Day.

    Cold temperatures with snow flurries, showers and a rain/snow mix could potentially occur between November and March 2025.

    The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center reported Aug. 8 that La Niña, a cold effect , is anticipated to begin between September and November. NOAA believes it is likely La Niña could continue into January 2025.
