Kettering K-9 assists in arrest during Miamisburg incident

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Multiple local jurisdictions came together after a suspect led police on a cross-county pursuit and hours-long standoff .

Alongside Ohio State Highway Patrol, officers with Miamisburg, Miami Township and deputies with the sheriff’s office worked together after a suspect crashed into a train and refused to come out of his vehicle.

Due to the possibility of the suspect being armed, Kettering SWAT was called to the scene for assistance. Alongside the SWAT team was a drone operator and K-9 unit.

Kettering Police Department shared photos from the drone to their social media, showing how the multiple agencies worked together.

The photos also show a K-9 unit assisting in the arrest.

“The suspect was ultimately taken into custody with an apprehension by KPD K-9 Ox, who is also a member of our SWAT team with his handler,” said the post.

After several hours, the suspect was taken into custody and sent to the hospital. Charges for the incident are pending.
