BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — In the middle of summer, an emu was discovered roaming outside of a home in Butler County.

Bodycam footage from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy respond on July 15 to a residence for a big bird in the yard. Upon arrival, the footage shows an emu named Sally waltzing around the property. She is believed to have escaped from her enclosure.

When animal control officers and deputies attempted to capture the emu, it looks to have known what they were trying to do. At one point in the video, the emu is seen moving its head away from devices being used by the officials.

Sally was able to safely enter back into her gated enclosure on the property.
