WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police urge for safe driving after a 3-year-old was hit by a car in Carbon County.

On June 30 officers said they were called for a 3-year-old girl who was hit by a car on 2nd Street in Weatherly.

Police stated the child was playing with her father outside when she tried to cross the street to be with her mother. Witnesses said they tried to stop the child but she was hidden behind a parked car and she stepped out into the travel lane where she was struck.

Victims identified after four-car crash kills two, injuries two

Responding officers began to treat the child and she sustained minimal injuries.

Weatherly Police say they want to warn drivers that it is summertime, there is a lot of activity and to pay attention to their surroundings.

No charges will be filed against the driver who officers said was cooperative on the scene.
