Bobby Lashley Compares His Lack Of A Relationship With Triple H To Previously Working For Vince McMahon

Bobby Lashley is officially a free agent, with his WWE contract having expired a few days ago, with it believed the company lowballed him during contract negotiations. And now, while being interviewed on The Laboratory , the former WWE Champion has discussed his relationship with Triple H in comparison to Vince McMahon, revealing that while the disgraced billionaire saw him as a star, his son-in-law has his own guys, which he wasn’t part of.

“I had a connection with Vince. Vince understood me. Vince was big on the show. He looked at people that were stars. He saw that in me. There were a lot of little nuggets that Vince would give me throughout my career and tell me different things. Vince looked at me like, ‘I can tell Bobby works his ass off. I can send him anywhere around the country to represent the brand.’ He looked at me like a star. I like Vince.

I haven’t really had too much of a connection with Hunter. Hunter has his guys. I’ve tried to, but we haven’t really worked enough together to get to know each other.”

49-year-old Lashley made his WWE debut all the way back in 2005 and was fast-tracked into the main event scene due to his incredible physique and athleticism. However, he departed the company in 2008, with rumors swirling at the time that it was due to his then-girlfriend Krystal Marshall being released, backstage discriminatory behavior, and even dissatisfaction with his WrestleMania 23 payoff.  Still, after wrestling for TNA and building up an impressive 15-2 MMA record, he returned to WWE a decade later in 2018, going on to have dream matches with Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns.
