Missy Hyatt Retracts Her Past Heartless Comment Regarding Kevin Sullivan Following His Death

Missy Hyatt has never been shy about putting people on blast that she feels wronged her over the years. And while many deserved her vitriol, she shocked fans when, during an interview with Wrestling Perspective , she declared that when Kevin Sullivan dies, “ I’m dancing on his grave. ”

However, with the former WCW wrestler and booker having sadly passed away earlier this week, she has publicly walked this back on X , acknowledging that she was “ stupid to harbor hatred towards him ” and “ he was always professional to me. ”

“Many years ago,I said mean & false statements about kevin sullivan.I was stupid to harbor hatred towards him over eddie Gilbert’s heat w/ him from the 1989 wcw booking committee. Over the year’s,he was always professional to me.”

For those unaware, Hyatt was married to Gilbert between 1987 and 1989, which is when he worked for Jim Crockett Promotions, who had just purchased the UWF where he was previously performing. At this time, Gilbert and Sullivan were both on the booking committee, and it’s claimed that Sullivan purposely went out of his way to undermine Gilbert and ensure his ideas were rejected. Still, while Sullivan wasn’t likey a saint at this time, it is known that Gilbert was difficult to work with and burnt plenty of bridges during his career.
