It’s well-known that Matt Riddle was far from popular with his colleagues during his time with WWE, managing to anger stars like Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins. And now it has been confirmed by Matt Camp on his YouTube show that Riddle also had heat with Roman Reigns, resulting in WWE employees making a point of keeping the duo separated when they appeared on The Bump, even though Reigns was only on the screen.

The former WWE presenter didn’t disclose the issue between the two talents, although it’s known that the former UFC fighter once told Bleacher Report that he could beat Reigns in a real fight. And while this is likely true, it clearly wasn’t wise to say this out loud, considering Reigns’ status in the company.

“Then he came on again a year later, in August of 2021, because he had a partnership with Shady Rays, a sunglasses company. He did the interview from a house with an outdoor shower somewhere, and he was in full Roman mode. It had been a year. The funny part is that Riddle was the in-studio guest for that show, and we 100% did not put Riddle on the set until Roman was off the video screen. We didn’t want to mess with that. Then Riddle went and said something dumb about Roman in another interview right after that.”

38-year-old Riddle was released by WWE last September after he allegedly caused a scene at JFK airport while intoxicated. However, considering he also failed wellness tests and upset his coworkers, it could have just been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Still, despite this, Riddle seemingly has little trouble getting bookings, as since departing WWE, he has worked for MLW in the US, AAA in Mexico, and NJPW in Japan.
