    SU scholarship memorializes fallen police officer from Webster

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Syracuse University is honoring fallen Ohio police officer Jamieson Ritter, a native of Webster, with a new scholarship.

    Webster native who served as Cleveland police officer shot and killed

    Ritter was shot and killed while responding to a call as an officer with the Cleveland Police Department in Ohio. Before his days as a police officer, Ritter graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School, and went on to study at Syracuse University where he also took part in the Army ROTC program.

    The “Jamieson Ritter Memorial ROTC Scholarship” will start rolling out next year (2025). It will be awarded to an ROTC student who plans to have a career in military or law enforcement.
