EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Evansville city officials and residents came together at the University of Evansville on Wednesday night for the second Traveling City Hall. During the event, the public had the chance to ask questions to city leaders. Including questions about a project that has been in the works for quite some time, but is finally about to begin.

Nicole Minton, the Lloyd4U’s public outreach manager, says phase one of the project will begin right after Memorial Day . With the numerous changes coming to the Lloyd Expressway, residents raised concerns.

“I think people understand that there is going to be a new way of doing things,” said Minton. “They just want to know ‘if I’m leaving my house and I need to get to work, how am I going to do that?’ In some ways it’s going to change, but it’s going to be an efficient experience and it will be a safer experience once we’re all done.

Minton emphasizes the project will take some time, and urges drivers to have patience.

Mayor Stephanie Terry says although this is only the second Traveling City Hall, she feels there is already a positive impact.

“We will host these quarterly,” said Mayor Terry. “We’re looking forward to engaging with the public as much as possible, and this is one vehicle for us to do that.”
