    Indiana Lt. Governor debate takes place at Indiana State Fair

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WEHT)- Indiana Lieutenant Governor candidates took to the debate stage at the Indiana State Fair on Tuesday.

    The debate has been a tradition at the state fair since the mid-90s. On Tuesday, Republican Micah Beckwith, Democrat Terry Goodin and Libertarian Tonya Hudson debated some top issues facing farmers. The topic is crucial as the Lieutenant Governor runs the State Department of Agriculture and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

    During the debate, the candidates promised to reform issues ranging from property taxes, water and mental health for farmers. According to the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office, Hoosiers are able to register to vote for the 2024 General Election through October 7.

    Indiana Governor Candidates Mike Braun and Jennifer McCormick will also have their own debate on October 24.
