HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Evansville Police Department and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Special Olympics of Indiana’s, “Cops on a Rooftop” event this Friday.

EPD states at the event, Dunkin Donuts partners with local law enforcement and the Special Olympics of Indiana to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics Torch Run and other Special Olympic events.

EPD also states several police officers and sheriff’s office deputies will be on hand at 848 S. Green River Road this Friday from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Officials say during this statewide fundraiser, hundreds of local law enforcement officers will stake out Dunkin’ rooftops all over the United States to heighten awareness and raise money for the Special Olympics, and guests who donate to the Special Olympics will receive a free donut coupon. Donations can be made in the drive thru that morning either by cash or the Venmo app.

Come see us Friday morning and help us raise more than other agencies participating in the state,” EPD says. “We will have Special Olympian athletes with us that morning also. We hope to see you there!”
