Owensboro, Ky. (WEHT) — An arrest has been made after a shooting on the 2800 block of Daviess Street in Owensboro.

Owensboro Police say Laterrian Burroughs was arrested after one person was shot Thursday .

Police say the person shot sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

“My wife was watching TV and I was in the bathroom and she heard four shots. She looked out and she saw a girl run outside and the next thing we know, the police was there,” David Holcomb says.

Holcomb says he has lived on Daviess Street for over a decade and says nothing like this has ever happened before.

“It is just catching up with us I guess,” Holcomb says.

Jordan Hughes lives down the street from Holcomb, and a few yards away from where the shooting took place. He says he was working on his car and went inside for a drink of water, and heard gunshots.

“I look over and a lady comes outside…saying she got shot. It is not something that you want to see where you live at all,” Hughes says.

Burroughs was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with assault first-degree and two counts of wanton endangerment.

Police have not yet reveled the name of the victim or what led to the shooting.
