HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A man who pled guilty to a gun charge has been sentenced to a decade in prison.

Raleigh Lamar was sentenced in Hopkins County Circuit Court Monday morning for a convicted felon in possession of a handgun charge. He was also charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Terrance Minor Jr. back in February 2023 where he was found not guilty.

Hopkins County Commonwealth Attorney Kathy Senter said the not guilty verdict was based on a self-defense argument. She also said the murder charge and the gun charge had to be broken up into two parts.

Lamar is not eligible for probation.
