HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A non-injury accident in Owensboro causes a major power outage for residents in the area, Owensboro Police Department confirms.

Daviess County Dispatch confirms the initial call came in at 5:17 p.m. in reference to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries near East 4th Street and Crittenden Street.

OPD says this accident caused a power outage for residents in the northwest part of the Owensboro area.

According to Owensboro Municipal Utilities’ outage map, at least 500 residents have been affected by this outage.

OPD says OMU is working to get power restored and asks drivers to treat an intersection as a 4-way stop if the traffic light is out.

Dispatch says crews are still on the scene.

    This is a developing story.
