Downtown Jasper entering Phase II of Revitalization Project

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The City of Jasper and its contractor are preparing to start Phase II of its Downtown Revitalization Project.

Officials state this project will have new underground infrastructure, new sidewalks throughout the project and curb ramps at the intersections for improved walkability in the Downtown Area.

Officials say pedestrian and vehicle construction signs will start to be placed the week of August 26, and demolition and construction is set to begin the week of September 3.

Officials also say as part of the construction, Main Street from Third to Fifth streets will be closed to all vehicle traffic for about 12 weeks as the work is being completed.
